The productized model lives or dies on throughput
A productized service is a promise: send us requests, we handle them, no scoping calls. Which means the queue is not a side effect of your business. It is the business. Every hour someone spends deciding what to work on next, chasing a brief that arrived half-empty, or answering "where is my request?" comes straight out of margin.
The tools most productized shops start with fight the model. Project tools want projects. Ticket tools scare clients. Spreadsheets and Trello boards work until volume arrives, which, if the model works, it does.
Sideline is built around the exact loop your service runs: a request comes in complete, lands on the right person ranked by what matters, gets done in your voice, and the client watches it happen without asking. Then the next one.
The delivery engine, piece by piece
Tailored to high-volume, repeatable request work.
Your intake form is your service menu
Shape the form so every request arrives complete: what they need, the brief, the files, the deadline, the priority. No half-requests, no "what did you mean by this?" round trips. For an unlimited-requests service, the form quietly defines what a request is, which protects the whole model.
A request you never have to clarify is a request you can price.

When Sideline is not the right tool
If you need a public storefront with a pricing catalog and checkout, tools like Zendo or Wayfront do that and Sideline does not; our comparison pages cover both honestly. Sideline starts after the client says yes: the intake, the queue, the delivery, and the relationship. Many shops pair a simple checkout with Sideline as the delivery engine behind it.
Questions we hear from teams like yours
Can Sideline run an unlimited-requests subscription service?
Yes. Unlimited clients and unlimited requests are included on the flat $49 per month Studio plan, so request volume never changes your software bill. The intake form defines what a request is, the queue ranks the work, and the portal shows each client their own pipeline.
How do we enforce "one active request at a time"?
Statuses are fully yours, so most shops model it with a queue status and an active status and work the board left to right. Clients see exactly which request is active and what is queued behind it, which makes the rule feel fair instead of arbitrary.
Do clients need training or a password?
Neither. Clients get a magic-link invite, click it, and they are in, seeing only their own requests. The portal was built on the assumption that your least technical client has to love it or the whole model leaks back into email.
Can clients submit requests by email instead of the form?
Yes. Emailed requests become tracked queue items automatically. The form is better for you because it arrives complete, but the model should never depend on client behavior changing.
How does Sideline compare to Zendo, SPP, or Queue?
Those platforms bundle a storefront, checkout, and billing with a portal. Sideline deliberately does the delivery half: intake, one ranked queue, collaboration, client visibility, time, and reports, at a flat price. If you need the storefront half today, read our honest comparisons; if your bottleneck is delivery, that is what we are sharpest at.
Can we white-label the client experience?
White labeling, your logo, colors, custom domain, and branded email notifications, is in development and will be included in the $49 plan rather than gated behind a higher tier. Today the portal shows your agency name and logo on every request, with "Powered by Sideline" present until it ships.
How do multiple designers share the queue without stepping on each other?
Every request has an owner, auto-assignment routes each client's work to the right people, and Smart Focus ranks each person's queue individually. Everyone opens Sideline to their own ordered list instead of a shared pile.
Can we see how much work each subscription actually consumes?
Reports break down requests and hours by client and by period, so you can see which subscribers are light, which are heavy, and price accordingly. That per-client consumption number is the most important metric in a productized business, and most shops have never seen theirs.
Does Sideline handle payments and subscriptions?
Not today. Most productized shops run Stripe payment links or their existing checkout, and use Sideline as the delivery engine behind it. Retainer billing with plans and caps is the next major thing being built.
Can our clients bring their own teammates into the portal?
Yes, clients invite their own colleagues and remove people who leave without emailing you. Everyone on the client side sees the same queue, which kills the forwarded-screenshot economy.
What happens when a client pauses or cancels?
Their history, files, and requests stay with your workspace. If they come back, everything is where they left it, which is a quiet retention advantage: restarting with you is easier than starting fresh with a competitor.
Can AI tools plug into our queue?
Yes, Sideline exposes an MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Make, or Zapier can read the queue, answer questions in plain language, build digests, and, if you allow writes, update statuses or draft replies a human still sends. Included on every plan, not an add-on.
What does it cost at 30 or 100 subscribers?
The same $49 per month flat on Studio, because clients and requests are unlimited. You pay for team seats (5 included, $9 each after), never for growth in clients. The $49 is an introductory price you keep for as long as you stay.
How fast can we move our current board over?
Free concierge migration is included: we import your clients and open requests and configure your intake form, usually within 24 hours of your trial starting. Your subscribers get a magic link and keep working; most never notice a cutover happened.
